Hello from Matsi!! Monday we picked up Judith from the airport and went to Matsi to finally see where we will be spending these months. It wasn’t very hard to find it, but since Matsi lies up hill it was quite hard to get there with all the bags. We had heard many stories about Matsi already, about how you immediately want to leave the building when you arrive, the grumpy landlord, the noise and how you have to shower while sitting on your toilet. So the picture we had from Matsi wasn’t that bright at all. When we got there the old landlord opened the door for us and started to talk about the rules right away. No parties, only visitors between 9 am and 9 pm, calls only between … (I already forgot) and there is only hot water between 8-12 am and 7-11 pm. His wife doesn’t speak a word English; very practical when you own a building full of foreign students, but ok. Our rooms are all on the first floor, but I was actually pleasantly surprised. The furniture isn’t so bad at all and there is space to move. And my bathroom is a bit bigger than the ones from the girls. My first bathroom where I can go to the toilet and wash my hair at the same time, but I’m not planning on doing that. A disappointment is that we don’t have a balcony. I do have a tiny one, but its one on which everyone can get. Levinia didn’t like her room so much and there was too little space so she decided to rearrange the furniture in order to create more space. After we had taken apart half of the bed etc, and got everything at the place she wanted it to be, she came to the conclusion it was better the way it was. So again, blood sweat and tears, to put everything back. In the evening we went to Sofia to tell her our stories and pick up our stuff, and again we walked up the hill with heavy bags.
We are gonna be so trained at the end of this exchange!
The walls in the rooms are completely white, so the rooms were very boring, but the next day we already worked on that, because we went to the Ikea!! And for not so much money we bought the things we need and some nice decoration to brighten up the room. Again we walked up the hill to Matsi with many bags, but we were all very happy to decorate our room. However, we swore this was the last time for now that we would walk with so many and heavy bags.
Nevertheless, the next day we were walking up hill again with even more bags and even heavier than the previous day, because we did some shopping at the Lidl! We get plenty of exercise here! Mieke cooked us a great meal so that was a good first dinner in Matsi.
And this morning, sporty as we are, Levinia and I jogged on the Boulevard. But we got followed by a dog, and since some dogs go crazy, we didn’t dare to run no more. The dogs here also attack cars and try to bite in the tires as the cars are driving. So we were afraid it might bite us too. But after we got rid of it we continued our little run and had to hurry back to Matsi to be on time to shower with warm water!

Loesos From Málaga:
Liefs loes -
